OKEMOS - Good news for Meridian natural food lovers, construction on Michigan's 7th Whole Foods store will soon commence as the supermarket chain has requested for site plan review from the Meridian Township's Department of Community Planning and Development.
Replacing Velocipede Peddler's location on Grand River Avenue, Whole Foods will provide Okemos and the surrounding areas with one stop shopping for organic and naturally grown foods. Construction on the building will begin once all permits have been approved.
Township Associate Planner Peter Menser empathized Whole Foods bring forth the next wave of popular franchises and local businesses to Meridian Township.
Menser also commented that the estimated completion date of the new Whole Foods store will be late Summer 2014.
