WILLIAMSTON - At the March 18th Township Board meeting, the board approved to continue the agreement of recreation services with the city of Williamston.
Since March 2011, the city of Williamson have started to contract with Meridian Township to provide and share the recreation services for their residents.
This agreement was doing very well so Williamston official and residents were very pleased to renew the contract with Meridian Township.
"I this it is a wonderful thing that the state government has been encourage us to work with other and we have been doing that," said Ronald J. Styka, Township Board Trustee.
This agreement does not only benefit the residents in both communities, but also is beneficial to both government entities.
"We really try to keep all our programs' expenses low. So by working together actually help us to reduce the expenses through all of our programs," said LuAnn Maisner, Director of Meridian Township's Parks and Recreation Department.
