MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Seniors that may not have been able to enroll in Medicaid, may by eligible now. With the new Health Care plan, Medicaid is now expanding, making it more accessible to individuals.
The deadline to enroll in this Health Care plan is March 31, 2014. After this deadline, Seniors may not be eligible to get the benefits received to them due to the fact that the marketplace may not be open.
Darla Jackson, Human Services Specialist, encourages individuals who are unsure about how this process works, to seek out a representative that will be able to help through the process.
"We actually have resources in the community of people that can help you kind of navigate through that system and find the right fit for you," Jackson said.
There are many different plans in which you can choose from within this health care plan, depending on how much you would like to pay out of pocket.
Seniors are strongly encouraged to enroll in the regular Health Care plan as well, to provide a fallback just in case they still are not eligible.
