Located in Okemos on Van Atta Road, the center has already had a very successful winter. Kit Rich, Sr. Park Naturalist and Harris Nature Center Coordinator, is very excited about all the upcoming events.
"In February, we're going to have a whole bunch of fun things for people to do," said Rich. Some February events available to residents this month include: The Owl Prowl Campfire, Howl at the Moon Walk, and the Moonlight Ski and Shoe Event.
"The day before on the 13th, we'll have Chipmunk Story Time, and the story is a "Snowy Valentine," so that will be lots of fun for the kids, they're gonna make a special treat to put out for the animals as an animal valentine," said Rich.
"It's been such a great winter this year. Despite the cold, I know some people have been complaining about that, but the snow has been fabulous," said Rich.
