MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Many came out over the weekend to participate in some winter time fun as Meridian Township hosted their 14th Annual Family Winter Sports Weekend.

Residents had the opportunity to participate in several events including Winter Wonderland at the Harris Nature Center which included free cross-country skiing and snowshoeing gear rentals. In addition a team of dog sledders demonstrated how they harness up the pups and start them on a run.

Sunday morning marked the start of the 7th annual Polar Bear 5K Run/Walk which wound its way through Nancy Moore and Central Parks. 197 people registered to participate in the race.
