MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Aldi presented the Planning Commission with some design changes they made for the grocery store and apartments. they added a seating area, crosswalk striping, and a proposed monument sign. As for architectural changes, the front facade is 50 percent glass and a look that the ordinance requested.
"I want to thank you also, you made, I think, a very good faith effort to respond to the concern of the commission. I had a number, particularly the close proximity of the parking and the extent of the landscaping, so I thank you for that I think this is a much better plan because of that," said Commissioner John Scott-Craig.
The commission approved the Special Use Permit and Mixed Use Planned Unit Development for the Aldi 8 to 1.
