MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - At the Township Board meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 10, the board recognized Officer Michael Hagbom and welcomed him to Meridian Township.

He was sworn in just the day before on Dec. 9, bringing the staffing up to 38 employees.

Now, Officer Hagbom will begin his first 15 weeks of training.

At the Township Board meeting, he said, "I just want to introduce myself, like chief said, my name is Mike Hagbom. I'm from East Lansing. I want to thank the board for the opportunity you've given me and I look forward to serving the township to the best of my abilities. Thanks again."

Meridian Township not only welcomes, Officer Hagbom, but welcomes firefighter Tavis Millerov, who was selected to be the new fire inspector upon Inspector Hornberger's retirement.
