MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Winters Farmers' Market is being held indoors December through April on the first and third Saturdays of each month. The market is in the JC Penney corridor of the Meridian Mall and provides shelter for vendors and customers from the cold.
"It's nice, I mean we have to haul things a little bit farther but the convenience of being indoors, I think it's a definite good trade-off to be able to go in and out," said Christine Miller, the Famers' Market manager.
This is the fourth year the market has moved to the mall during the winter season and Miller said that the market benefits from shoppers in the mall that might be doing some Christmas shopping.
The market features items ranging from chocolate covered bacon to scarves. The Farmers' Market also accepts bridge cards for those who need some assistance in buying local goods.
