UPDATE:
LANSING - HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE FROM THE LANSING AREA SHOWED UP TO THE CAPITOL BUILDING SUNDAY SEPTEMBER ELEVENTH TO PAY HOMAGE TO THE HORRIFIC EVENTS THAT TOOK PLACE TEN YEARS AGO. ON THIS DAY, SERVICE PEOPLE, POLICE OFFICERS, AND THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES THAT DAY WERE RECOGNIZED.
EMOTIONS FLOODED THE LAWN AS ONLOOKERS LISTENED TO SEVERAL MEN AND WOMEN FROM THE SERVICE AND POLICE FORCE RECALL THEIR MEMORIES FROM A DECADE AGO. ATTORNEY GENERAL BILL SCHUETTE AND SECRETARY OF STATE RUTH JOHNSON WERE INVITED TO SPEAK AS WELL, OFFERING WORDS OF HOPE AND STRENGTH. SCHUETTE AND JOHNSON THEN HELPED CARRY OUT A CANDLELIGHT VIGIL AS THE CEREMONY WOUND DOWN. BEYOND THE RECOLLECTION OF THE PAST WAS ANOTHER MESSAGE, THE SAFETY OF OUR FUTURE.
EVENT STAFF WERE ALSO ABLE TO PASS OUT A FAMILY PREPAREDNESS GUIDE TO THOSE IN ATTENDANCE WHICH CONTAINED VALUABLE TIPS FOR KEEPING YOUR FAMILY SAFE.

LANSING - Many members of the Lansing area community gathered at the Capitol building Sunday September 11 to remember and pay homage to the terrorist bombings that occurred ten years ago. The nation has since recovered from such a horrific act, but the thoughts and memories of those who were lost in the air or buildings and heroes who attempted to save them won't soon be forgotten.
