MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Senior Center was bustling on September 13th. The center was celebrating National Senior Center Month with their annual Fall Open House.

The event served as a tool for senior citizens to learn about programs to stay happy, healthy, and engaged.

Attendees could also visit the many representatives to learn about opportunities offered to older adults. In addition to the booths new renovations to the center were also a part of the celebrations.

Senior Center Coordinator Cherie Wisdom told us about the renovations, "The school put in some new carpet and the base paint last year as part of their sinking fund, and then this year through some funds from the Township and the millage that passed we were able to incorporate some of the other things you see."

Their are more upcoming events at the Senior Center, including the "Guide to Benefits" program Monday, September 30th, or "Baby Boomer Bootcamp"- a guide for everything you need to know about caring for an aging parent- on October 30th.
