MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Police Department held an emotional ceremony on August 30th with friends, colleagues, and family to celebrate the retirement of a police officer for his many years of service.

Police Chief David Hall gave a speech recognizing Officer Jon Wicks before his retirement after 25 years of service, he stated, "I like his contribution to the department, including all those positions you held I have a plaque here that lists those. How you've influenced so many people, and I'm not just talking about your peers. I'm talking about the people on the streets and people that pass through the Township."

Chief Hall presented Officer Wicks with a retirement badge and plaque for his services to the Township.
