MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Meridian Township will be replacing three leaking water main valves along Marsh Road this week. In order to remove and replace the valves the main must be shut down which will disrupt the water service.
To minimize the inconvenience the shutdown is scheduled for 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14th. Water service should be restored by 8:00 a.m. Thursday, August 15th; however, if there are unforeseen complications the service restoration may be delayed.
Once the water service has been restored there is a possibility that water may appear slightly cloudy or with a reddish tint. Both conditions, though unseemly, pose no health risks. They are caused by minerals on the inside of the pipe being dislodged during construction. To combat these issues, officials recommend turning on all of the taps all the way for 10 minutes. This should clear the pipes of any debris that has been stirred up during construction
