UPDATE:
OKEMOS - Adelle Sanko was at the Meridian Farmer's Market, when she and her parents found out about a day camp at the Historical Village.
Through a summer day camp in the first week of August, the Meridian Historical Village gave kids, like Adelle, a chance to see what it might've been like to live in pioneer times.
The kids got to experience things like hauling water and washing clothes the old-fashioned way, with a scrub board and hang-drying.
The camp also teaches kids about gardening, traveling, and different kinds of foods from the past.
If you missed the summer day camp, the Fall Heritage Festival is September 24, where kids can witness things like a vintage 1860s baseball game.
