MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Concerns are cropping up among citizens wondering just how secure their belongings are on the internet. After it was revealed companies are being used to hand over documents with personal information on it to the government, some wonder if there is any way to keep information behind closed doors.
"Make sure to have your passwords become more complicated such as including parenthesis," said Kevin Schoen, CEO of AED.net
Although government agencies are gathering records from companies such as google by looking through e-mails, people should be protected from hackers.
Some ways to keep your information more secure include some basic things such as clearing your cookies and cache. You can use smaller providers because the government has more of a priority or if you browse the internet using Firefox or Google Chrome HTTPS works as a secure encryption to keep other's from seeing what you are typing.
