MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Good news for drivers, every lane of Grand River Avenue between Michigan Avenue and Bogue street has been open, almost two months ahead of schedule. The lanes are open but there is still minor work to be done on curb ramps and traffic signals. The project was finished early thanks to the construction company supplying additional crew that helped to double the construction process. Many businesses on Grand River Avenue are excited to see the lanes back open.
Corey Olney Manager Southwest Grill had this to say about how business is after the lanes have been open, "The construction letting up had played another big factor to it too. Its a lot easier to get here, road looks nice. Yeah, construction slowed us down for a while but its picking back up."
The next construction project, crews will close northbound Beal street, starting at west circle drive and extending to the Michigan Avenue exit.
