MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Fire Department now has a fleet of four fire ambulances.
A new ambulance, which will be based at Station 92, will be in service by the end of the month.
The new ambulance features energy efficient LED lighting, an exhaust system that reduces carbon emissions, and an ergonomically designed interior that offers patients and staff a smooth ride.
Chief of Training and EMS Operations for Meridian Township, Bill Priese, said that a reserve ambulance is needed because oil changes, tire changes and other maintenance issues can take ambulances out of service.
