UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - One big project taking place this summer is the Grand River Avenue project.
The Michigan Department of Transportation has already began this project starting in East Lansing. It will come into Meridian Township from Hagadorn Road to Park Lake Road starting in late August. Resurfacing will take place, but before that sidewalk work needs to be done.
"One of the things they have to do with these projects is to make sure all the sidewalk ramps meet all the ADA requirements," said Ray Severy, Meridian Township's Director of Public Works. "The current ramps do not meet those requirements, so they need to bring them all to standards."
Another big project is on Cornell Road, which is a natural beauty road. This involves 1.8 miles of land where tree removal will need to take place.
Public comments are welcome regarding this during the Meridian Township Board Meeting on Thursday May 9 at 6 p.m.
