UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Haslett Lacrosse Club, Incorporated is now recognized by Meridian Township as a charitable organization. The Township Board consented to the group's tax exempt status under section 501 (c) 3 of the IRS code at their last meeting, although the IRS gave the organization public charity status back in December of 2010.

"I think it's pretty standard procedure," says Trustee Wilson. "it was pretty much just reaffirming the IRS status recognizing them as a non-profit so we were recognizing them also as a non-profit in the Township."
