UPDATE:
OKEMOS - With March being National Nutrition Month, there are many ways to get fit and stay healthy. To March into good nutrition, you can start with fitness.
Meridian Township has two Court One Athletic Clubs. Court One North is located in Lansing on Lake Lansing Road. Court One East is located in Okemos on Research Circle by the Okemos Library.
David Winker, Membership Coordinator at Court One East said because we live in a faced paced society with fast food and fast eating, the key is to have balanced meals with healthy snacking.
A tip Winker said is to take smaller bites, so it will take more time to finish your plate.
Court One Athletic Clubs are busy Monday-Sunday with residents of all ages.
"Nutrition is important in my life. As far as time of day, I try not to eat much after 9 o'clock at night," said Joe Martin, a member of Court One. "My oldest daughter will watch my wife or myself come home from working out, and wants to work out too. She embraces that we are making a lifestyle change."
At times the Martin's take their two girls, 8-months and 2 1/2 years old, with them to Court One to swim.
Martin said his kids do not want bad food, and it is purposely not around the house so they do not eat it.
