UPDATE:
EAST LANSING - This past Thursday was the Meridian Skates event in East Lansing, so Coach Mike rounded up his troops and fun was in full force.
Kids and residents from around Meridian Township joined together for a day of fun on the ice at the Suburban Ice Center. The crowd that made the trip was mostly youngsters and they had a blast at the free event. In the end the day was highlighted by fun, friendship, and improvement. For some participants, this was their first time ice skating and there was no shortage of helpers to go around.
"My favorite part I would have to say is being here with my friends and being able to skate around and some of my friends don't know how to skate that well, so I like to teach them to skate a little better." - Ivy Rivers, Perry Resident
The next Meridian Skates event will be held on August 20th from five to seven pm at the suburban ice center. All you need to bring is yourself and one dollar if you need to rent skates.
