UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - On Saturday, January 26, 2013 Harris Nature Center pulled out the skis, sleds, warmed up the hot chocolate, and made use of the blankets of snow.
Every year on the last Saturday in January the Nature Center takes innovative and encourages Meridian Township residents to enjoy the winter weather and all the fun activities that come along with it.
This year the center offered cross country skiing, snowshoeing, dog sledding demonstrations, ice sculpting demonstrations. a bomb fire, ham radio demonstrations, a silent auction, and refreshment to warm up with.
"The silent auction is done every year and helps Harris Nature Center fund some of the things that we need but are not in our budget," said Barbara Kissling.
Adults and children of all ages enjoyed Saturdays' event and were able to find fun in the snow.
