UPDATE:
EAST LANSING - Michigan State hosted the Iowa Hawkeyes last Thursday as Big Ten play continues.
The game went back and forth, each team trading points, all the way up to the last three minutes.
With score at 53-51, Spartans ahead, an Iowa turnover led to a three-point shot by Annalise Pickrel to give MSU a five-point lead. This would start a string of poor offensive play by the Hawkeyes, and the Spartans would take advantage and eventually go on to win 65-54.
The finish was strong, but head coach Suzie Merchant wasn't focusing on the positives of this game.
"You know, I mean sometimes you should celebrate the good things, and I do that in the locker room, but then as a coach my job is to see what's wrong and fix it," Merchant said. "So my first thought is, 'what do we have to do better,' not, 'we should celebrate some good things and capitalize on some things.'"
