UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The controversial apartment complex here in Meridian Township is now under new ownership.
The Lodges of East Lansing was sold in late October from Capstone Collegiate Communities to American Campus Communities.
The sale was part of a 862 million dollar purchase which included 19 properties and 12,049 beds.
The ownership will not affect the Lodges of phase two.
.
"That goes with the property, all of the conditions go with the property so whether it's a new owner or contiously owned by the same people, they are subject to those conditions and the requirement is that they meet all those conditions throughout the life of the project," said Mark Kieselbach, Director of Community & Planning Development
Phase two of the Lodges complex was approval from the Meridian Township board back in July with a special use permit allowing for expansion of the student housing development to move forward.
