UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Meridian Township has added to it's list of already thriving businesses for the start of 2013.

Meridian Mall is now home to "Studio C!", a highly redesigned and renovated movie theater that now offers full service dining inside, as well as a concession stand that is paired with a bar for alcoholic beverages.

Residents will also find a new food joint in the food court at Meridian Mall. "The Polish Deli" is making it's debut this year, offering a variety of deli-style sandwiches.

Also added to the township are "Geneva News," "IT Risk Managers," an expansion of Sparrow Hospital, and Asian Buffet.

Meridian Township Director of Community Planning and Development, Mark Kieselbach thinks the addition of all these new businesses could be a positive sign of things to come for business in the township.

"I think we're going to see a trend upwards," Kieselbach said. "Not a fast and huge amount, but slow and stead increase. I can that it already looks that way for this year for the people we've talked to that are already planning new businesses coming in or those existing business that are looking at improving their sites."
