MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - State funding for schools will be cut again this year and school districts are doing anything they can to salvage their budgets. Lay-offs, technology cuts, athletic reductions are just a few of the departments that will take hits this year, but there is still hope for a normal school year. Districts in Ingham County are banding together to save money by buying services together. One of those services is transportation, where 12 schools will save by "buying in bulk." Each school district took a hit of around $2 million for the upcoming 2011-2012 year.
