UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Historical Village came to the Meridian Senior Center and gave a presentation on the establishment and partnerships that built the village.
Jane Rose, Executive Director of The Historical Village, said she came to educate the senior citizens but ended up learning that one of them was a decent of the pioneers who originally built the village.
"I was fascinated about the history," said Julia one of the students watching the presentation. "I was shocked to learn about all the history that is right here in the township. They have gardens there that were replicated in the 1800s. I definitely plan on visiting in the summer and taking my family there as well," said Julia.
This season the senior center is offering more than just history lessons.
"We have current events coming up! Which is my favorite. We have discussions about what's going on in different political arenas and we discuss all of our favorite interests," said Marge Sowul, visitor at the center.
"They have yoga, the cribbage, the have bridge, there are so many things here to enjoy. Besides that there are people are same age, so we enjoy each others company," said Asha Joshi, visitor.
