UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Thanks to the Howell Post, the Sons collect Christmas trees and sell them for $25, leaving much more money to be donated to families in the community.

The group has been doing this each holiday season for about two decades and has shown no sign of slowing down.

"It's wonderful to see somebody come with kids and stuff and we give them their little candy canes and they get to pick out their tree, and it's a lot of fun," said member Scott House.

When the group gets down to their last few trees, they will freely donate them to various churches and businesses that need them.

ORIGINAL STORY: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Haslett Sons of American Legion are giving back to the community by selling Christmas trees for a bargain price that all families can afford.
