MSU Food Truck

MSU Food Truck

UPDATE: EAST LANSING - If you have been on Michigan State's campus lately you may have seen this green and white truck floating around.

The idea for the truck came from Chef Kurt one of the head chef in the culinary service department at the university. Chef Kurt said, "With Shaw Hall's cafeteria being under construction it was the perfect timing to test out my idea for the food truck." The menu for the truck is all locally grown, featuring MSU Diary Store products, MSU beef, and produce. Every item was created for on-the-go and each day there is a speciality item.

"I come to the truck every day after class," said Jane Foundation a student at State, "It is so convenient I just ride my bike over and pick up some great food. I love the burgers they are juicy but not too juicy," said Fountain.

"I like the food but I think it would be better if they had something healthier instead of chips and dessert," said Kaitlin Jansen, student at MSU.

Karen Wenk, Development Officer for the College of Education, said she stopped by the truck for the first time on her way to a meeting. "It's really convenient and I've heard great things about the truck," said Wenk.

Student prepare, serve, and take orders inside the truck. They take Spartan Cash, meal plans, cash, and debt. According to Chef Kurt students' response to the truck has been excellent and they love the menu.

"We are looking to launch another truck this semester because things have been going so well," said Kari Magee, Head Chef.

You can find the truck Monday-Friday from 11am-4pm. The trucks usually station by the Auditorium by the Rock or behind Shaw Hall.
