UPDATE:
EAST LANSING, MI - Michigan State University hosted the Big Ten Cross Country Championship on October 28, 2012.
Fans from all over Big Ten country gathered at Forest Akers golf course for the meet.
Eighty-four runners competed in the women's race where Michigan took first place in the team standings. But Michigan State followed closely behind in second place in the team standings.
MSU junior Sara Kroll placed first overall in the 6,000 meter race with a winning time of 20:13.
Kroll was named Big Ten Cross Country Athlete of the year when she ran a personal best 20:12 race in the Big Ten Championship.
