UPDATE: OKEMOS - Ben's job brings music to his ears.

"Of course in the downtime I get to play all the instruments so that's fun," said Benjamin Sawyer, employee of White Bros. Music.

White Brothers Music, the store in downtown Okemos has been serving musicians since 1976.

"Originally we were just concentrated on orchestra instruments, the violin family. But when we moved down here it was a much bigger space we had to expand to a full line of band and orchestra and a lot more guitars," said Will White, owner of White Bros. Music.

White has enough experience with instruments to help with any customer.

"Actually I think I've been paid as a professional musician to play about a dozen different instruments. Other than piano and tuba and base guitar. Played a little xylophone, meremba," said White.

And you can come in for just about anything music related.

"Whatever the customer wants, that's what we're here for. Customer service is the most important thing we do have a full on repair shop, we make instruments here," said White.

Alot of people come into white bros music for lessons like on the piano

"Those piano students are anywhere from 5 to 6 years old up to 80 years old. Its never too late to learn an instrument," said White.

Some say the store will be remembered for its simple generosity.

"Its the spirit of white brothers if you will. Just a passion for music and for helping people," said Sawyer.
