UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Don't throw your bananas in the trash! Food waste is the largest contributor to landfills and accounts for about 20% of methane emissions, which is the worst greenhouse gas. Help prevent this by composting at home! Build or buy an approximately three foot square bin.Your bin can be filled with things like pumpkins, oranges, bananas, grapes, broccoli, lettuce, carrots, newspaper, and many other organic items. After a few months your food waste will become healthy soil. For more information about composting check out epa.gov/composting. Do your part!
