State Proposal 1: Emergency Manager

UPDATE: LANSING - On November 6th, voters across Michigan will be faced with the decision to vote yes or no on the Emergency Manager Law.

It is important to know that there are already emergency managers overseeing Benton Harbor, Flint, Pontiac, Ecorse, and public school sin Detroit, Muskegon Heights, and Highland Park.

According to Fred Woodhams, Spokesperson for the MI Department of State, "The law establishes criteria to assess the financial condition of local governmental units, including school districts."

To conclude, if passed the government will hold the power to step in and make financial decisions when needed.

Voting yes would keep the law, voting no would appeal it.
