UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Meridian Township was one of the many jurisdictions in the United States to participate in the National Citizen Survey this year.
Surveys were sent in May to a random sample of 1,200 households in the township.
Meridian Township Manager, Gerald Richards says the citizen survey reports good marks for Meridian Township's quality of life.
Since 2003 the citizen survey has gathered information about the quality of life in the township. Every three years residents are surveyed by a third party corporation. The two characteristics receiving the highest ratings were educational opportunities and cleanliness of the township.
"Eighty-seven percent of the respondents felt that Meridian Township was rated as either excellent or good in overall quality of life. So that's a very high rating, it's right up there with what we saw in the last three," Richards said.
Richards says this survey is a great way to get feedback and improve in necessary areas.
