UPDATE:
OKEMOS - Okemos and Haslett faced off in a rivalry swim meet on Thursday, October 4, and although the cities are close together, the score at the end was not.
The meet kicked off with the 100 Fly where Okemos' Katie Dudley placed first with a time of 1 minute and 1 second, and was followed quickly by her teammate. Okemos then swept the first three spots in 100 Free with Emily Wozena taking first place. Next was the true test of endurance, the 500 Free. Haslett's Isabell Reed takes first place, with her teammate Allison Choi following in second. Okemos' Mariah Silverstein placed third.
On to the 200 Free Relay. Okemos led the relay coming in first with a time of 1 minute, 49 seconds. Haslett took second place, and Okemos also placed third, taking two of the three top places in the relay.
The meet would finish up with Okemos defeating their rival Vikings. Let's see what coach Patrick Saucedo has to say about the win.
"We kind of played around with the line-up today. We had a good meet last year with Haslett so we have a good respect for each other," Saucedo said.
Okemos will face off against the Holt Rams on Thursday, October 11 at 6 p.m.
