UPDATE:
HASLETT - They picked up a key win against Ionia the week before, but they needed a win to keep their hopes alive for a playoff spot.
Both Haslett and Fowlerville brought their muscle on the defensive end, as the game started out with opposing offenses scrapping for yards.
Fowlerville would strike first with a one-yard punch on the ground in the second quarter, and Haslett would respond the very same way with only five seconds left in the first half.
After a Fowlerville touchdown in the third put Haslett behind 14-7, Graham Riley hit his stride with a 24-yard touchdown run, breaking tackles and leaving a trail of defenders sprawled on the ground.
After a clutch defensive stand against Fowlerville, Haslett would start their final drive of the game on their four-yard-line. With just under six and a half minutes to go in the game, they drove 96 yards with a Connor Brewer two-yard touchdown and chewed up five of those minutes along the way.
Senior Connor Brewer would come back out on defense and clinch the victory with an interception.
They take on St. Johns on Friday.
