UPDATE:
ST. JOHNS - A fall tradition for some Michiganders is becoming a little more expensive due to a frost in late spring.
John Heystek, the Business Manager at Uncle John's Cider Mill, said, "I know that it's atleast two to two and a half to three times what normal price it is for us to buy boxes of fruit."
This increase is because 100 percent of the apples at Uncle John's were wiped out forcing them to look elsewhere.
"They are all from Michigan right now. We are getting everything from other growers. Some other growers had some crop, west side of the state kind of thing," said Heystek.
For now, Uncle John's has enough apples to last through November, but their prices may change again due to crop availability.
The average gallon of cider is selling for $9.99 compared to $6.99 in the past.
