UPDATE:
OKEMOS - The Okemos girls' swim team matched up against Jackson on September 20 and it was a close meet.
The meet kicked off with the 200-yard freestyle. It was a close race between Megan Shaughnessy of Jackson and Katie Dudley of Okemos, but Shaughnessy would come if first with Dudley trailing at a close second.
Jackson would also dominate the 100-yard breaststroke with first place going to Emily Bullinger of Jackson with a time of 1:20.
Jackson started strong in the relay pulling ahead quickly, but Okemos would pick it up to win the only heat of the relay.
Another win for the chiefs would come during the 500-yard freestyle.
Okemos coach Patrick Saucedo expected a close match.
"When you come to a meet with this much talent on both sides, as deep as we both are, it really comes down to who's getting the fifth place, fourth place, third place, versus first and second," Saucedo said.
Okemos went on to tin the meet against Jackson 100-83. The Chiefs are now one of four area teams ranked in the Coaches Poll.
