• Okemos VS. Lansing Sexton

UPDATE: OKEMOS - The Okemos Chiefs and first-year coach Jack Wallace were looking for their first win this season as Lansing Sexton came to town on a rainy Friday night.

There was not a lot of action in the first quarter, but the game really got started when A.J. Hobbs from Lansing Sexton ran in a pass, making it 7-0 with about seven minutes left in the first half.

But the Okemos Chiefs would answer with four minutes left in the half when number 24 for Okemos ran for a long touchdown, tying the game at seven.

Back to the Big Reds. Lansing Sexton pulls ahead again when Okemos fumbles the ball and Sexton recovers it, then runs it in for a touchdown making it 14-7 in the last couple seconds of the half.

At the start of the third quarter the rain is coming down steadily. The Big Reds make it 20-7 when Bell breaks out for a long run into the end-zone with 10 minutes left in the third quarter. But again Okemos would answer when number 22 catches a pass from Jacob Divine making it 21-14 with Sexton still ahead.

Sexton would end the quarter with a touchdown in the last three seconds.

In the fourth quarter, Sexton is leading 28-14, and quickly scores again when Alvarez catches a pass in the end-zone with 10 minutes left in the game making it 34-14.

"We had the lead and we knew we would have the ball when we came out in the second half. Then to go out on that first drive and score, we were able to extend the lead," Boggan said.

The Chiefs are now win-less going into their game against Jackson High School on September 28.
