UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Fire Department recently go a new ambulance. Right now, it is sitting at the South Fire Station, waiting for radios, a new computer, and communication equipment to be installed.
The fire department replaces their ambulances 4 to 5 years to ensure the rotation of service. This time the 11 year old ambulance is replaced by a brand new 2010 model, which is equipped with new technology, a new engine and made by a different manufacture.
“Well, we hope to get this in service by the end of July. We required our employee to go through a driving courses with it .So it will take in the driving course, consisting different turns through the township, so you may see it is driving around township but it may not put into service, because it is not licensed yet in the state.”
The Meridian Fire Department has been working on this replacement for almost a year. This new ambulance will put into service by the end of July, and it will have a better ride to transport the patients to hospital.
