UPDATE: OKEMOS - Recent cable franchise issues leave public and government access channels concerned.

It seems Meridian Township, along with a number of other townships, is having problems with securing cable and video franchise agreements with providers. Though statistics show a large amount of the population does watch public access channels, some providers aren't recognizing this.

Station Manager Deborah Guthrie noted that there are a number of issues.

But things are looking up. Officials are considering possible changes to clarify certain sections of the franchise act.
