UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The heat has slowed crop production. With 100 degree weather, it has caused summer berries to be smaller. Strawberries and raspberries have been the most affected this summer because they are not as immune to the heat.
"For dryness we just irrigate, but that's about all that we can do. We have irrigation lines running, we spray with trackers and big water tanks," said Dakota Gross.
Gross is a marketer at Rasch Farms in Lowell, Michigan.
This summer, farmers have less crops for sale due to the slow down in production.
The Meridian Township Farmer's Market will be open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. until October.
