UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township board decided to deny the proposal to amend the sign ordinance to allow churches and other religious institutions to use electronic signs.
There was some concern over churches and religious institutions in residential areas. Although there have been special use permits given to businesses in the commercial district to allow the use of an electronic sign, using these signs in a residential area is of a different matter.
