UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - A piece of property in Meridian Township was up for auction at the past township board meeting.
A strip of land from Wildflower Estates in Haslett was purchased by the board. It is used as a walkway for bicyclists and pedestrians. It does not have an easement across it, but buying it gives the township the right to make a pathway connection to Burchum and Marsh road in the future
"Basically it assures that the residents and others in the area that would use the pathway will be able to do that in the future and there won't be any legal entanglements or problems with continuing that pathway in the future," said Gerald Richards, Township Manager.
The strip of land was purchased for 650 dollars.
