UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Central Fire Station has a been a hot topic among Meridian Township residents, and talks continued at the June 5th Township Board meeting.

The topic was under discussion on whether to replace the station with a $3.5 million dollar bond. For the last several meetings, the size and cost for the new station was debated. The board decided to put it on as an action item for the next meeting.

"And again the action would be to put it on the ballot for November and then our residents would have the opportunity to respond either yes or no on whether to replace the central fire station," said Jerry Richards, Township Manager.

The next board meeting is scheduled for June 19th.
