OKEMOS, MI - The Meridian Township Police Department hosted an Halloween Open House on Saturday, October 28.
Everyone in attendance was able to tour the department and get a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to be a police officer. Children were able to sit in the patrol cars, enjoy donuts and cider, and meet McGruff the Crime Dog.
“The smiles from the parents, the smiles from the children and our officers that are involved in this event, everyone is having a good time and it’s an opportunity for us to all come together," said Meridian Township Police Captain Bart Crane. "It’s great to have a day like this where we can meet with the community members and they can understand that we are not always there on a bad day. We’re here to help them whenever we can.”
