OKEMOS, MI - Spring Recycling Day was hosted by the Meridian Green Team at Chippewa Middle School on Saturday, April 22. Capital Area residents could safely recycle their unwanted items, ranging from washers, snow blowers, water heaters, and more.
“Everyday is a great day to recycle. We seek out sponsors early in the year that have an interesting environmental background and have a direct relationship with what is being recycled today," said Environmental Programs Coordinator LeRoy Harvey.
Harvey thanked the Meridian Green Team, seasoned volunteers, and local sponsors for helping with the coordination, and hopes to host more recycling events besides just electronics.
