OKEMOS - Meridian Township's Parks & Recreation team hosted a special event for the community at the Marketplace on the Green pavilion on Wednesday, October 26.
The event went from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm where families came dressed up to celebrate Halloween. There were several activities where children could make masks, toss a spider on the web, pumpkin bingo. and a photo booth to take photos with loved ones. There were musical performances by School of Rock from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm and the children were welcome to dance to the music. Vendors from the Meridian Township Farmers Market were passing out candy to children as they walked around and the Pavilion following Mike Devlin, the Parks and Recreation Specialist.
HOMTV spoke with Allison Goodman, the Park Naturalist for Meridian Township and says, “It’s fun to host this each year and nice to do it again. We did it last year and hope to continue it again each year.”
Goodman says she looks forward to the most at this event is all the children in their costumes and seeing everyone out together having fun in the community. She thanked the community for coming out and supporting Parks & Recreation, and being a part of the event and added, “It’s just fun to see everyone out and enjoying themselves.”
The fun doesn’t stop there, more Halloween events are happening this Saturday at the Meridian Historical Village and Meridian Township Police Station. For more information visit the additional info below.
