MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN - Meridian Township held its 28th Annual Memorial Day service at Glendale Cemetery to honor and pay respect to those who served, welcoming the community.
During the ceremony, it included the Meridian Community Band providing musical tribute selections including God Bless America and Stars and Stripes Forever.
As well as Scouts BSA Troop 164G, 125, and 141 where they led the Color Guard.
Lastly, a special presentation by Vietnam Veteran, Ron Springer, who also paid tribute to those that served.
Springer who is an East Lansing native, served and entered the US Army in May of 1969 and served until March 1971. He served in Vietnam as a Squad Leader, acting Platoon Sergeant, and acting Platoon Leader with the 101st Airborne Division.
Springer concluded his presentation with a remembrance of those that served, “These young men, the heart and soul of America.”
