MERIDAN TOWNSHIP - On April 20th during Earth Week, volunteers went to several parks around Meridian Township and gave the parks some much needed tender love and care.
The care included laying down new mulch for the gardens and the playgrounds. Overtime, playground wood-chip mulch loses moisture due to exposure to the sun, leaving the mulch harder than before. With this new mulch, the playground will become brighter and safer since the new mulch is much softer.
The parks worked on this year include, Hillbrook Park, Harris Nature Center, Hartrick Park, Nancy Moore Park, Central Park, Eastgate Park and Marketplace on the Green.
Thanks to the work of volunteers, Meridian township parks are much more lovely to behold and enjoy.
To get involved with events such as Love a Park Day, keep an eye on the Meridian Township calendar which will list upcoming events that the community members can partake in.
