MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN - In 2021, Haslett Middle School and Radmoor Montessori School have each been given a grant from the Meridian Township Board for green environmental projects.
Both schools have been using their funding to substantially improve and beautify their schools. In addition to Radmoor and Haslett schools growing their environmental projects, the Meridian Township Board has opened the grants to members of the public. Citizens are now able to propose their own projects and ideas to the Board in order to receive assistance in their green project.
LeRoy Harvey, the environmental programs coordinator of Meridian Township, met with HOMTV to discuss these developing projects.
Harvey, when asked what the grant was, responded, “Basically, it’s the second year we’ve done this and it’s a small program to encourage creative green projects in the Township.”
The Township not only strives to complete astounding environmental developments, but to utilize environmental education as well.
